'Ass' is very versatile. Using the word ass in conversation is an example of what's called a 'vulgarism' in English.
Ass can serve as an adjective meaning low quality — "that game was ass" — a suffix to intensify — "today is cold-ass" — and as a quantifier — "I won an ass-ton of money."
President Trump said:
Read out of context, it might seem that Trump is referring to his ass as a special place.
But President Trump used 'ass' in self-referential noun form to serve as a crude rejection. Apparently, members of the secret service suggested that the Oval Office be taken apart and rebuilt.
'Badass' is an exception to the negative 'ass' rule and wholly positive in connotation. We can assume the president sees himself as this kind of ass.
