Trumpian English tends toward the superlative.
Best, biggest, smartest — the president never saw a word that ends in –est that he didn't like.
On his social media, Truth Social, Trump is pushing the idea of the Smithsonian institute installing a statue of America's first president, George Washington.
Linguistic data shows that Donald Trump uses superlative adjectives twice as much as the average speaker. To the president, "average" would be a crime against language.
And the statue itself must match in dimensions the scale of the president's tendency toward the superlative. It must be "colossal."
